Thank you for a successful 2013 Webinar Series!
Artscape held the final webinar in our 2013 webinar series “New Models for Cultural Space Development” last Wednesday. Over 200 individuals registered to hear Artscape’s Executive Vice President Celia Smith and Wendy Holmes, Senior Vice President, Consulting & Strategic Partnerships of Artspace USA for a discussion on unique approaches to the adaptive reuse of surplus schools for arts and cultural uses.
Artscape was able to offer “New Models for Cultural Space Development” free of charge as part of ArtsBuild Ontario‘s two-year program to assist arts organizations with the online and in-person learning, tools, resources and software they need to address their knowledge and capacity impediments around managing, renewing and developing their facilities.
Each of our four webinars addressed a different topic related to new models of cultural space development, including a look at multi-tenant arts centres, designing for collaboration, building partnerships for community cultural hubs, and repurposing surplus schools. All four of the webinars invited guest speakers from Canada and the US to share their expertise alongside Artscape president and CEO Tim Jones, Executive Vice-President Celia Smith, and Director of the Creative Placemaking Lab, Pru Robey.
More than 600 individuals registered for the webinars. Participants included municipal, provincial, and federal government, arts organizations, individual artists and developers, and many others. All four of the webinars are now available to view on Artscape’s knowledge-sharing platform, www.artscapediy.org.
Stay tuned for our 2014 webinar series and for a new short film series, soon to be announced!
