Toronto Artscape Foundation Announces New Bursary Program to Help Creative Entrepreneurs Thrive

First round of applicants must apply by February 22, 2019.

TORONTO, ON—The Toronto Artscape Foundation is pleased to announce its first-ever Launchpad Bursary Program to help artists and designers with an emerging practice or who wish to grow their business opportunities to take their practice and career to the next level. The Toronto Artscape Foundation is accepting applications for the first round of Launchpad Bursaries starting today through February 22, 2019.

These Bursaries will provide creatives, with financial need, access to Artscape Daniels Launchpad’s creative entrepreneurship programs, skills development workshops and events, and coaching on navigating the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as access to co-working spaces and Creative Studios (including: Textiles + Fashion, Fine Metals + Jewellery, Woodworking, Digital Fabrication & Electronics, design, music, film and video production, and digital media).

“We understand the challenges creatives face due to the precarious nature of contract work and the high cost of space in Toronto,” says Jane Hopgood, Executive Director of the Toronto Artscape Foundation. “We and our community of donors are committed to supporting the growth of local artists, designers and creators as thriving entrepreneurs, by providing those who need it with access to the entrepreneurial skills development programs, facilities and services Artscape Daniels Launchpad offers.”

The Toronto Artscape Foundation Launchpad Bursaries are made possible by a group of generous donors and are open to emerging creative entrepreneurs as well as those already in businesses that they are seeking to grow. These Bursaries will underwrite the cost of an educational experience that ranges from three months to one year, depending on need.

To be considered for a Toronto Artscape Foundation Launchpad Bursary, artists, designers and creatives must submit their applications by February 22, 2019. Learn more about Toronto Artscape Foundation Launchpad Bursaries and how to apply at
