On May 9, Artscape Daniels Launchpad pulsated with creative energy, as The Toronto Artscape Foundation’s biennial fundraiser, #CreativeTO19, celebrated the leadership and contributions of Robert and Julia Foster to Toronto’s arts and culture scene. The sold-out gala and after-party were a huge success, raising over $400,000 in support of projects and programs that help artists thrive, including affordable access to space for artists and arts organizations, mentorship programs, educational opportunities and creative placemaking.
This event treated over 500 guests to immersive art installations by Mango Peeler and Trish Roque, silk screening, laser cutting and jewellery making in our creative studios, thanks to our generous Studio Sponsors, Air Canada and The Daniels Corporation. Guests also enjoyed electrifying performances by incredible artists, including the incomparable JUNO Award-winning jazz songstress, Molly Johnson, Joy Lapps Lewis, Irene Harrett and Eric St-Laurent.
Thanks to our After-Party Sponsor, MOD Developments Inc., the party carried on well into the night with beats by DJ Jenno Christian, burlesque dancers, decadent donuts and other late night indulgences!
This was all made possible through the fabulous support and creativity of our CreativeTO Gala Committee, brilliantly co-chaired by Melanie Foster and Noorez Lalani and our Honorary Gala Committee Co-Chairs, Veronica Tennant and Karen Kain, who all went above and beyond in their support for CreativeTO.
