Gorgeous cafe space at Artscape Youngplace available

Artscape is seeking a new tenant at Artscape Youngplace to set up shop in the well-frequented community cultural hub in the West Queen West neighbourhood at 180 Shaw Street.

This space, located on the mezzanine level of the three-story building, offers a perfect location for a library café, a co-working space, a social entreprise or other hybrid businesses.  Artscape is open to considering other business concept proposals.

Unit size: 900 sq. ft.

License term: 2 years with renewal option

Occupancy date: August 2019

Application deadline: July 25, 2019, 5:00pm.

With large windows facing Shaw Street, the space accommodates 20 patrons and includes tables and chairs. An adjacent lounge area provides seating for an additional 55 people at no charge to the operator. There is also an outdoor seating area on Shaw Street.

The space is outfitted with a café counter, water, drainage and electrical receptacles, as well as an espresso machine. The space is zoned for food service with the option to obtain a special permit licence to serve liquor at special events. Leasehold improvements are at the tenant’s option.
