This July, Artscape welcomed a new leader to the organization. Chalo Hancock joined the Artscape Daniels Launchpad team as its new Managing Director.
“Already in my first week I can see what amazing place Artscape Daniels Launchpad is! It’s a place full of energy, ideas and impact, ” said Chalo Hancock.
“I’m especially thrilled with the broader team here and how they are working hard to change the lives of our creative entrepreneurs, partners and members. I can’t wait to dive in further and really help connect the city and the world to Launchpad with a focus on our members.”
Previous to this role, as co-founder of U for Change, an award-winning charity in Toronto, he helped design the programs which have successfully graduated more than 2,500 young people in the arts. He was also involved in the launch and growth of Christopher Paunil Designs – a celebrated bridal and eveningwear brand with global markets.
In 2012, he received a Diamond Jubilee Award from His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales for his outstanding service, and in 2017, received an Emerging Leader Award from the Lawson Foundation for his work in community building.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chalo as Managing Director of Artscape Daniels Launchpad,” said Artscape CEO, Tim Jones.
“He has the perfect combination of skills to lead Launchpad to a successful future. He has lived the life of a successful creative entrepreneur; built organizations from the ground up; delivered programs that have profound impact; and inspired people to work together for change.”
A clear communicator and proven relationship builder with excellent operational and analytical skills, Chalo is well positioned to lead the dynamic team at Launchpad into its next phase of growth.
