Artscape Gibraltar Point’s Winter Island Artist Residency now accepting proposals for 2020
Artscape is now accepting proposals for the Winter Island Artist Residency, happening between January and April of 2020. Now in its fifth year, Winter Island is a unique, juried artist-in-residence program at Artscape Gibraltar Point, aimed at emerging, mid-career and established artists who are working in community engaged practice.
Four Canadian artists, each with a strong and unique voice, will be selected to participate in this month-long residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point, a short ferry ride away from the downtown core. Located in the former Toronto Island Public and Natural Science School, the residency space offers artist studios and accommodations for creatives of many disciplines to think, experiment, collaborate and share ideas.

While residing at Artscape Gibraltar Point, the four selected participants will have access to a studio to create or develop a new and exciting work (or body of work) that seeks to engage with or activate the artistic community on the Toronto Islands.
