Call for Vendors: Barns Art Market
Welcome to the Barns Art Market! Artscape Wychwood Barns, partnered with WAAB, is hosting a Barns Art Markets (BAM!) this Spring!

All applicants will be contacted between April 3-5th with a confirmation email and next steps.
Barns Art Market Exhibitor Application requirements include:
· Full contact information
· Artist statement – 100 words or less
· Artist biography – 75 words or less
· A minimum of five images and no more than ten images of recent work that are representative of work to be exhibited in the show. Please note that the submitted images could be used for the purposes of event promotion and/or media.
· Images and/or plan of booth design or examples of past booths
· Artscape and BAM encourage applications from those that represent the full diversity of communities in Canada, including complexities of intersecting identities such as ability, class, gender, race, and sexual orientation. Saturday, May 27th, 2023 10AM – 3PM
Exhibitors must be present at their booth for all of the advertised hours of the exhibition. A friend or family member may also tend the booth for short periods.
The Market will coincide with the weekly outdoor Stop’s Farmers Market (Saturday’s 8AM – 1PM). More Information
Exhibitors for the Barns Art Market are chosen by a selection committee or jury including a WAAB member, Artscape tenant and a community member. Artists selected to participate in the Barns Art Market will be notified between April 3-5th. Upon acceptance of the offer and confirmation of participation, you will be issued an invoice to pay your registration fee. Payment can be made by credit card or cheque.
SHOWCASING & SELLING YOUR WORK
Exhibitors must showcase and sell work from the media category indicated in their applications and represented by the supporting images provided with the application. Please note that if you would like to showcase or sell work from another media category, it must be submitted for review by the selection committee. You are not permitted to display or sell work of other artist(s) or any other products that are not your original creations.
Booth spaces within the Covered Street barn (Barn 2) will be assigned by the selection committee. A maximum of 30 exhibition spaces will be available. All booth spaces are 10’ x 10’.
The fee for each booth is $150.00 + HST.
Should you want a larger space, you can pay an additional $150.00 plus HST for an additional 10′ x 10′ space adjacent to your booth if one is available. To do this, please contact the Community Services Coordinator Dayne Jespersen, BAM@artscape.ca to inquire about availability and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
If you require tables, they are available for a fee, $10 per table. Chairs are available free of cost. Please indicate on your application how many tables and chairs you require.
SET UP/TAKE DOWN
Prior to your market date(s), you will be emailed a map. Please refer to this map to determine the location of your assigned booth.
Exhibitors will be permitted to begin installing their booths two (2) hours before the market begins and one (1) for teardown.
If you need to withdraw from the Barns Art Market, Artscape must be notified in writing two weeks prior to the exhibition date you are withdrawing from via email to BAM@artscape.ca. Your participation fee will be returned to you less a $25 administrative fee. If you cancel after this date, Artscape will retain all fees.
Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own chairs, tables, display equipment, hanging supplies, etc. We require professional lightweight and portable display systems. If you have questions about the suitability of your display, please contact BAM@artscape.ca.
We reserve the right to remove any display that is deemed to be unsafe or inappropriate.
The Barns Art Market will provide an exhibitor sign for your booth during setup. It clearly indicates your NAME and BOOTH NUMBER. Please hang this sign in a visible place in your booth so that visitors can easily identify you in the market.

During the event, site maps will be available for visitors outlining the exhibitors in the space.
WASHROOMS + ATM
Public washrooms are available in Barn 3 at Artscape Wychwood Barns. There is also an ATM located on the second floor of Barn 3.
Participating exhibitors in the Barns Art Market will be asked to complete an exhibitor survey which will help the program develop and grow as it evolves in the future. Following the exhibition, each exhibitor will be forwarded the survey via email and you will have two weeks to complete it. The information you share will provide invaluable feedback on the Barns Art Market and comments are crucial in our discussions to continue the Barns Art Market year after year. We take your suggestions very seriously and thank you in advance for completing one!
AGREEMENT WITH ARTSCAPE
By submitting an application to the Barns Art Market, you agree to abide by the guidelines set out by Artscape.
You also agree to comply with any reasonable request by Artscape staff regarding your display or conduct. Should you not comply with either the guidelines or a reasonable request, you will forfeit the
right to exhibit your work in the Barns Art Market. In these circumstances, Artscape will not refund your fee. The Barns Art Market reserves the right to amend or alter rules governing the exhibition.
