Jennifer Akkermans is a Canadian artist, whose work examines the emotional content of home, memory, and belonging. Jennifer holds an MFA from the University of Waterloo and a BFA from the Alberta College of Art + Design. She has exhibited at Pier 21, the Art Gallery of Calgary, the Esker Foundation, the University of Waterloo Art Gallery, and the Niagara Artists Centre.
She has been an artist-in-residence at the Banff Centre, the Living Arts Centre, the Gushul studio, and the Fluid Festival. She makes Homage Homes, custom lightbox sculptural portraits of real people’s homes.
