INTRO TO 3D PRINTING WITH LITHOPHANES
September 14, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn the basics of 3D printing including fundamental information about SLA and FDM technology, Slicing software, and print settings like resolution, infill, and support. In this workshop, participants will be guided through the process of creating and 3D printing a lithophane from a photograph of their choosing. Focus will be on printing with filament on the Prusa MK3/S printers and PrusaSlicer. Participants will also learn how to access 3D printing services available at Artscape Launchpad.
*Please note that prints take several hours to complete so you will have to come back on a separate day to pick up your printed lithophane.
Requirements: Participants should have general experience working with computers. Please bring a laptop and ensure in advance that it is capable of running PrusaSlicer: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/install-prusaslicer_1903
Please contact us at fabricationstudios@artscape.ca if you require additional accommodations such as access to a computer.
There is a $5.00 material fee included in the workshop price that covers the materials you will need for in-class sample making.
*Please be aware that attending this workshop (201) does not give you open access to the Studio. To obtain unrestricted access to a studio you must complete the hosted ‘Safety Training and Orientation session (101)’ for that Studio.
