INTRO TO MACHINE KNITTING
September 21, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This 4-hour workshop will introduce the process of machine-knitted textile construction using domestic knitting machines. The fundamentals for beginner textile and garment prototyping will be covered: understanding a knitted structure, selecting appropriate materials, machine components and functions, casting and binding off, increasing and decrease stitches, and blocking a finished piece. After the various techniques have been demonstrated, there will be in-class production time to experiment and fabricate samples of your own.
There is a $20.00 material fee included in the workshop price that covers the materials you will need for in-class sample making.
*Please be aware that attending this workshop (201) does not give you open access to the Studio. To obtain unrestricted access to a studio you must complete the hosted ‘Safety Training and Orientation session (101)’ for that Studio.
Members: Course price: $50 + Materials Fee $20 / Non-Members: Course Price: $70 + Materials Fee $20
