The female Buddha Tara is ‘The Mother of All Buddhas”. The patron Saint of Tibet, she is loved by Tibetan Buddhists everywhere, both male and female.

Tara is the archetype of Enlightenment in the Female form.  She frees one from fear, overpowers negative emotions, and supports all beings to reach enlightenment. She has special resonance as a source of female spiritual wisdom, as she vowed to always manifest in female form.

Tsunma Jamyang Donma, a Buddhist nun and master artist in Stained Glass Thangka Painting, will lead a presentation on the enlightened female in Tibetan Buddhism with an in-depth look at the 21 Manifestations of Tara and her many skillfull expressions throughout time.

A guided tour of the Mar 5-15  Painted Prayer : The Sacred Art of Thangka will be offered after the presentation concludes.

All proceeds benefit the Tibetan Artists Development Society in Labrang. Donations support the school’s capital, operating, and scholarship needs.

Food and snacks available at Youngplace Coffee Pub.
