Our residencies support artists’ creative process, idea sharing and production.

From time to time, Artscape invites artists to become “in residence” teachers, mentors and creators within its portfolio of spaces. These residencies provide space for art making, research, sharing knowledge, exhibiting work and more. Resident teachers and artists have worked at Artscape Youngplace, Artscape Sandbox and Daniels Spectrum. Calls for expressions of interest are released periodically on our website, newsletter and social media channels.

Artscape hosts self-directed and programmed artist residencies at Artscape Gibraltar Point. Over the years more than 1,000 local and international artists have come to enjoy this unique experience on the Toronto Islands.

Artists love residencies at Artscape Gibraltar Point for a reason. Whether they’re locals or coming from far away, everyone enjoys this special spot for mental getaways and focused studio work. Experience the island vibe yourself in this video created by Chris Boni.

More Info & Application Form

Artscape Gibraltar Point is sad to announce that, due the flooding on the Toronto Islands and our concerns for public safety, we have made the difficult decision to cease short-term residency and event operations for the rest of June and the first two weeks of July. Stay tuned for updates!
